Flora I

Daffodils are as much associated with spring as with William Wordsworth. The poet’s timeless words have captured the imagination of many. Today no council will leave public spaces be without daffodils and the flower graces many gardens.

This photograph is of a Narcissus Tete a Tete, an early flowering variety – stocky, wind and rain have less effect on them which make them last longer. In the words of the poet they flutter and dance but less than taller varieties.

After the bleak colours of winter, or the lack of, their bright yellow is an electroshock to the senses which wakes us up from our winter hibernation.
