Description
The Unexpected Visitor
Limited edition of 50
Architecture can impose a remarkable sense of order on a city : repeating windows, railings, steps and façades creating rhythms that continue along the street.
Here, that carefully ordered perspective is interrupted by something much more ordinary : a scooter parked in the foreground, carrying its own small signs of travel and everyday life.
I was drawn to the contrast between the permanence of the buildings and the temporary presence of the scooter. One belongs to the architecture of the city; the other simply happens to be passing through it.
